Structure & People

The FwDAI is a not for profit organisation, which is a registered incorporated association and holds a Charitable Collections licence.

According to its constitution, The Fishers with Disabilities Association is managed exclusively by a Board of Management consisting of:

  • a Chairperson,
  • a Vice Chairperson,
  • a Secretary,
  • a Treasurer,
  • 1 person who is a registered Fishers with Disabilities volunteer, nominated by Fishers with Disabilities volunteers; and
  • not less than three other persons, and no more than ten other persons, all of whom shall be members of the Association elected to membership of that Board at an Annual General Meeting.

Monthly meetings are usually held on the 2nd last Thursday of each month and an AGM is held each year between July and October.

The board regularly reviews it activities to assist its endeavours in meeting the needs of its clients and community members and to that end have recently produced a Strategic Plan for 2007 – 2009.
